I was recently asked if I have advice for new artists..of course I have plenty but too much to post here,so I'll give them the short version. ;)

To become a better artist you have to constantly work on your skills, look for any weaknesses in your technique, and strive to improve them.
Try something new with every picture you paint, weather with colors, brush strokes,lighting,shadows,ect..the more you practice, the better you'll get.
Remember to paint different subjects, don't keep painting one subject over and over again, sticking to painting only what you are good at will only make you a very narrow minded artist.
Most importantly don't be afraid to get creative, who cares if someone doesn't like your work,as long as your happy with the outcome, thats all that matters.

I hope that helps.  =)

"Four things you can't recover: The stone...after the throw. The word...after it's said. The occasion...after it's missed. The time...after it's gone." ~ Unknown
